VMAs Score MTVs Greatest Audience Ever

BeyoncPregnancy Affects ‘A Star Comes Into The World’ Rhianna’s male alter ego and Beyonc’s recently revealed baby bump increased last evening’s 2011 Video Music Honours to some record-breaking 12.4 million total audiences, the biggest audience ever for MTV. Within the network’s target persons 12-34 audience, the VMAs shipped a ten.8 rating (8.5 million), which makes it MTVs most-viewed telecast ever within the demo. Versus this past year’s show, the VMAs were up 8% with persons 12-34 and 9% with total audiences. The 2011 VMAs now rank because the No. 1 cable telecast of 2011 with persons 12-34 and also the No. 1 non-sports cable telecast of 2011 with total audiences. This can be a throwback to MTV’s past — prior to the Jersey Shoreline gang required over and began breaking rankings records — once the VMAs were the once-music funnel’s top attraction.
