Vet Stunt Pilot Dies In Reno Air Show Crash
The pilot from the The Second World War-era fighter plane that stepped in to the crowd in an air show in Reno today would be a veteran Hollywood stunt pilot. Jimmy Leeward, 74, was wiped out within the crash together with two visitors. Anestimated 50 others were hurt. Leeward had flown 250 various kinds of planes and done stunt flying in a number of documentaries and films. The Ocala, Fla. residentmost lately done Amelia last year. Younger crowd did stunt operate in Dragonfly in 2006 and also the 1995 TV movie The Tuskeegee Airmen. Reno Air Races leader Mike Houghtontold the Connected Press that Leewardwas “a very qualified, very experienced pilot.”
