Black Rabbit, Impatient back 'China'

PARIS -- Gaul's Black Rabbit Film and Canada's Impatient Pictures have boarded Gallic scribe-helmer Frederic Colier's "Produced in China." The British-language drama is going to be lensed on location in Canada with French and native talent. The film activates two siblings who find it difficult to get on together until a Chinese lady makes their lives. Colier formerly directed "Dinosaur Park" and "The Hindenburg Omen." "Frederic (Colier) includes a wonderful way with words, and it has written a universal script that mixes the very best of French and United States storytelling," stated Adeline Monzier, who's creating for Black Rabbit, together with Isabelle Obadia. Gregory Mackenzie, producer and founding father of Impatient, referred to the film's plot as "a sincere and enjoyable story." Pic marks Black Rabbit Film's first feature production. The outfit was released this season by Obadia and Monzier, that run the professional network of indie distribs, Europa Distribution, in parallel. The duo also produced Gotham happening, a 2-day industry showcase of yankee indie films in Belgium, whose first edition begins Saturday. Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com
